This policy explains what cookies zerith.uk sets, why, and how you control them. It is written for our Squarespace site under UK GDPR and PECR. A few items in square brackets should be confirmed against a cookie scan before publishing.
1. Who we are and what this policy covers
This website, www.zerith.uk, is operated by Zerith Building Performance Limited ("Zerith", "we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 16835050, with its registered office at 35 The Crescent, Woodthorpe, Nottingham, England, NG5 4FX. We are the data controller for personal data collected through cookies on this site.
This policy applies to cookies and similar technologies (such as pixels, tags and local storage) used on www.zerith.uk. It does not cover other websites we link to, or the ZECO AI platform, which is governed by its own terms and privacy notice. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
We use cookies in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR).
2. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your computer, phone or tablet when you visit. It lets the site recognise your device, remember your choices and understand how the site is used. Cookies set by us are "first-party" cookies; cookies set by other organisations through our site are "third-party" cookies.
Cookies last for different lengths of time. "Session" cookies are deleted when you close your browser. "Persistent" cookies stay on your device until they expire or you delete them. We group the cookies on this site into four types:
- Strictly necessary. Needed for the site to work, for example to keep it secure or to remember your cookie choice. These do not require your consent.
- Performance and analytics. Tell us how visitors use the site, which pages are read and where people arrive from, so we can improve it. Set only with your consent.
- Functional. Remember choices you make, such as a form you started or a video you played. Set only with your consent.
- Marketing. Used by third parties to build a picture of your interests and show you relevant content on other sites. Set only with your consent. [Remove this type if you do not run LinkedIn, Google or Meta advertising tags.]

4. How we ask for your consent
When you first visit www.zerith.uk you see a cookie banner. Strictly necessary cookies are set automatically because the site cannot work without them. All other cookies (analytics, functional and marketing) are set only after you accept them.
You can accept all cookies, reject all non-essential cookies, or choose which types to allow. We do not treat continued browsing, scrolling or closing the banner as consent. We ask again when our cookies change materially, and periodically so your choice stays current.
5. How to manage or withdraw your consent
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the cookie settings link in the footer of every page, which reopens the banner.
You can also control cookies in your browser: block or delete them, or set the browser to warn you before a cookie is stored. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site working. Guidance for the main browsers:
To opt out of Google Analytics across all sites, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
6. Third-party cookies
Some cookies are set by third parties whose services appear on our site, such as Squarespace (our hosting platform), Google (analytics) and, where enabled, LinkedIn, Google or Meta (advertising) and embedded content such as YouTube videos or a Calendly booking tool. These providers may process your data outside the UK; where they do, they rely on safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
We do not control third-party cookies. Their use of your data is governed by their own privacy policies. For more detail on how we handle personal data, and your rights, see our Privacy Policy.
7. Changes to this policy and how to contact us
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the cookies we use or to the law. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be notified through the cookie banner.
For any question about this policy or about cookies on our site, contact us at info@zerith.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
